M.O. “Tray” Traxler III, Chief Financial Officer of Aiken County Public Schools, was presented with the Outstanding South Carolina School Business Official Award at the 2021 Spring SCASBO conference.

This award is presented annually by the South Carolina Association of School Business Officials. Award nominees must be an active member of the School Business Officials state organization, have at least three years’ experience in education finance, and demonstrate exemplary service to their school district, the profession, their colleagues and their communities.

Tray has fourteen years of service in school district finance, all with Aiken County Public Schools, where he serves as the Chief Financial Officer. As a CPA, he previously conducted audits of governmental and school district finance clients for nearly ten years with Baird & Company, CPAs.

 

Tray is a Past President of SCASBO. He also earned and maintains the designation of Certified School Business Official through SCASBO’s certification program. He was a member of the inaugural cohort, earning the highest cumulative score in all subject areas. Tray has been instrumental in many executive level decisions that have positively impacted the SCASBO membership.

 

As referenced by his Superintendent and Chief Instructional Officer, Tray is a valuable member of the administrative team for many reasons. In addition to his achieving impeccable financial standing year after year, Tray is focused on service to the district’s students and staff, as well as recognizing the value of his team. His kindness and passion for serving inspires trust within the community and vast support of district initiatives.
