Missy Campbell, Chief Financial Officer of Spartanburg School District 7, was presented with the Outstanding South Carolina School Business Official Award at the 2019 Fall SCASBO conference.

This award is presented annually by the South Carolina Association of School Business Officials. Award nominees must be an active member of the School Business Officials state organization, have at least three years’ experience in education finance, and demonstrate exemplary service to their school district, the profession, their colleagues and their communities.

Mrs. Campbell has twenty-eight years of service in school district finance.  She is currently employed by Spartanburg School District 7, where she serves as the Chief Financial Officer.  Previously, she served in various finance related roles in Greenville County School District and Pickens County School District.

She served as President of SCASBO for the 2007-2008 term and was South Carolina’s representative on the board of Southeastern ASBO Board.  Mrs. Campbell was instrumental in establishing the SCASBO Certification Program and recently established a Mentor Program through SCASBO, which offers support, instruction, and guidance for CFO’s and Directors of Finance just starting out in their roles.

According to Dr. Russell W. Booker, Superintendent of Spartanburg School District 7, what sets her apart in her role at the District is her ability to be a contributor in all aspects of the organization; “From strategic planning, to reaccreditation-from rebranding to website development0from instruction to student services-Missy brings wise counsel and supportive ideas to every discussion at the table.”
